Always on my mind

I lost my mother 7 years ago and she is of late all I can think of. I think of nothing in particular or no particular time of when she was with me, I just think of her. Does this mean anything?

I often think that they are around and you pick up on them. That and of course the ol' memories building up somewhere in the brain box and then altogether they pop out.
Life often gets in the way and impressions and communications from our passed on loved ones can get lost in the noise. That's if you are sensitive enough to clue in on what they are trying to say or the vibe they are bringing. Keep an eye out for strong dreams concerning her or your life in general as well as this may clue you in a bit.

Hi. I believe it may be a way for you to continue the grieving process. When my father died over 20 years ago, I did not cry when I got the news from my mother, and I never cried in the days leading up to the funeral, or even at the funeral itself. Six months later (!) it just hit me and I started to cry watching TV one night. Nothing that I was aware of triggered it, and I haven't cried about him since.
We were very close in the time leading up to his death, as he battled cancer for 15 months. In that time we shared (mostly he shared) his thoughts on death and dying. I believe he was preparing me to be "present" for my mother when he did die so she would not be overwhelmed with grief. Since his death I no longer fear dying, and I still don't cry at funerals as I believe the person has moved on to a better life.
Perhaps this is just the time for you to remember your mother, and possibly other events in your life needed to be looked after before this process of remembering could start. Take care, and God Bless.

Laughter and love,

Richinside

I lost me Mam in 1972. I was Nine and she just 32, the cancer took her. You think of her Lucy, because she is a part of you and you a part of her.

Completely normal. I lost my father 11-years ago, and still a day never goes by when i don't think about him. It brings me comfort to remember.
