Question Disembodied voices

I have also heard disembodied voices. And no I'm not insane. They don't tell me to do things .They seem to be studying me.Usually,or almost always I cant quite hear what they are saying.Although I did hear a male and female voice clearly once.

LOl. Insane. Here ya go.

"Auditory hallucinations of hearing voices in 375 normal subjects

Authors: Posey, T. B. & Losch, M. E. (1983–1984).

In: Imagination, Cognition and Personality, 3(2), 99–113.

Background: Julian Jaynes’s theory of the bicameral mind suggests that voice hearing played a role in the evolution of consciousness, and was therefore a common experience for early humans.

Aims: To ascertain voice hearing prevalence in a modern, non-clinical sample.

Method: 375 university students with no history of mental health service use were asked about possible voice hearing experiences.

Results: 71% of the sample had heard voices at some point. This included hearing one’s thoughts spoken aloud (39%), hearing “the voice of God” (11%), and conducting conversations with voices (5%). No associations between voice hearing and mental health problems were found.

Conclusion: Hearing voices should not be automatically seen as a symptom of illness, given that it appears to be relatively common amongst individuals in good psychological health."

Perfectly normal these days actually. Lots of people hear voices that say good things and never report it either because they don't want to be labelled as 'crazy' or because they LIKE their voices and find them comforting.

I hear voices every single day - every time Azrael talks to me!

Why don't you talk back? It took me a long time to learn to discern their voices from my own thoughts. Practise makes them much clearer.

I can think of 3 possibilities , there ghosts , some gov. device , you have a mental disorder . For ghosts you could set up some recorders and look for e.v.p. For a gov. device , a fairaday cage might work . On a mental problem you would want to see a doctor. You dont need to be crazy to hear voices . It is said that when V. Van Goh cut off his ear he had an ear infection , making noise , he thought the devil was talking to him .

When people hear or see things that others cannot (Clairaudience & often referenced by Clairvoyance), they are labeled crazy. When people sense things through touching others or objects they are labeled crazy (Clairsentience).
When people follow their instinct (gut feeling) they are NOT labeled crazy (Claircognizance).

For some reason we have developed in our society that it is ok to follow your instinct (often referred to as 'that little voice in the back of your head), but not other forms of "knowing things".

So, just because someone hears things/voices, does not mean they have a mental dysfunction in their brain, aka. crazy

And even if you are crazy, it's not necessarily a bad thing. It is possible to have a mental disorder, even if it involves hearing voices, and live a wonderful and productive life. I know someone like this, and whether the voices he hears are his own mind or an outside source, he ignores the negative things and finds other things useful and good. Just like he does with his own feelings and conscious thoughts.
