Sure I can go with what I believe, but what I believe in may not necessarily be the truth.

Sometime one's belief is nothing more than an attempt to pull the wool over your ones's eyes. Opnions nowadays is confused as truth. It makes sense to think the world is flat, yet it is round if we continued to think this way we would have missed the gravity of the situation.
