My piece (chip) of Benitoite

Ok another post I know, but I want to share this with you. Been wanting one of these gemstones/rock minerals for a good while and finally got around in buying one. Supposed to be a very metaphysical stone so I've read. Here's some images:

Here's another photo, tried to get as close as I could for this shot, hope you can see the blue 'gemmy' inclusions on the edges of the chip (well, I suppose you could notice them on the first image).

That's quite a large piece! I don't have this mineral myself but hope to put it in my collection one day. Although I've read somewhere the main mine is closed now so I expect them to become even more expensive.

Hi Sylmar, yes this is going to be a rare mineral because, as you mentioned, the mine that this was extracted from in San Benito has been closed for good. I got this information from a Crystal Age Info card. I'm going to put this piece into a spiral cage holder, may come in useful like that. The Russian Stone Company has quite a few pieces of this.

I think it will look very nice as a pendant. You're lucky owning such a big piece of Benotoite. It's an interesting mineral that I knew not a much about. I can see why people first thought it was Sapphire, it does look a lot like it in the rough.

The name Russian Stone Company rings a bell. I think I have seen them on Etsy. I will take a look. Thanks for the tip!

I dont recommend crystals for usage. They may be harmful as they do not function and fool your mind into thinking you got something you did not
