Magick Spell books

I'm a beginner so I'm looking for a spell book that would be simple and that would require easy to find ingredients. And that would touch several areas of life.

I found 2 books that maybe are a potential, I don't know... The 2nd title gives the impression of being more directed toward "love spells" but according to the description it should actually be for many things...

Does anyone know:

"Power Spellcraft For Life: The Art Of Crafting And Casting For Positive Change" by Arin Murphy-Hiscock

"The Good Spell Book: Love Charms, Magical Cures, and Other Practical Sorcery" by Gillian Kemp

Are they good? If you know other books that would be better and that would still be for beginners, please mention them.

"A Grimoire For Modern Cunningfolk" - Peter Paddon

Shalimar, don't forget the key part of any spell is your Will and Intent. Mental focus is vital. Without this, no words or ritual will suffice. The best way to this is through meditation.

There are a lot of books out there that list spells. You can also get a bunch of spells off the internet.

I would read any book by Scott Cunningham. Starhawk's "Spiral Dance" is also good, not just for spells, but for general knowledge on Wicca and Witchcraft.

Basically, a spell is you needing/wanting to change something. Using meditation and visualizing the end result is the best way. You can use a candle to help you focus your desires and send them out to the universe. Using color magick helps - as in green colors for prosperity/abundance.

Using the moon's phases are also helpful - the Waxing moon for when you want to increase something, Waning Moon for when you want to decrease something.

The wording of the spell is up to you. The rhyming makes it easier to remember it. Some people say you should write your own, rather than use somebody else's words. I have taken spells from books or the internet, and changed the words to suit myself, and sometimes I've used the exact words as it was written.

The bottom line is what is YOUR intent - YOUR mind power - YOUR energy is what is driving the spell. Everything else is just a guideline.

Also look for books that lists the magical qualities of herbs plants flowers anything of nature so that you might start your own grimoire write what works for you. Once you have the basics you can start building your own grimoire.

right Occultist -I forgot about the herbs and plants. - and crystals - I use crystals too.

I have a book put out by One Spirit book club - it's three books in one by Scott Cunningham that includes: "Wicca," "Living Wicca" and "The Complete Book of Incense, Oils, & Brews." The first part "Wicca" contains "The Standing Stones Book of Shadows" which has many lists in it - colors, gems, plants, as well chants, some spells, - a whole ton of information.

I'm building up my library on the subject of Spells/Witchcraft slowly but surely. I also found some websites, one of them had spells that included essential oil, herbs, crystals, I'm not through looking into it.
Today, I was almost able to borrow "The Complete Book of Incense, Oils, & Brews." as it was listed in the Library's data base but unfortunately they have visibly lost the copy and never updated their records...

Yeah, I have thought about starting my own Grimoire once I get some practice (didn't cast any spell yet, but it is coming). I could write what worked for me (there are so many spells it is hard to choose which one would be the best). The idea first came to me in a dream where I was told to write down my own spells with a quill, on a parchment paper...so Occultist, what you said has come as a reminder and confirms to me that it is important that to do so...

totally off topic, but I can't resist telling Shalimar - been watching LOTR the past few days. I got knocked off my feet by the worst cold - been laying on the couch, can't sleep, can't concentrate - I haven't even touched my computer in 2 days. - LOTR is perfect for when you don't feel good. can't wait for the first of The Hobbit movies to be released Dec. 2012.

I find actually doing rituals on a computer to be effective...

There are many infinite ways to do a spell...

Simply create the spell intuitively, by writing it in your own personal style your imprinting your own energy out to the universe and will recieve back a resonance frequency...

This frequency as your own personal signature unique to you...

Your creating new energy...
