i can think of few afterlife situations more hellish than spending eternity with a crowd of unctuously pious self righteous fundies. and that never ending angelic muzac! ARRRRRRG! |

Don't worry  ...hell in the common sense doesn't exist, unless you choose to believe it does.
I think the only revealing descriptions of hell describe various forms of isolation, and this is always self-imposed.
There's a beautiful midrash (story) we've all heard about how in both heaven and hell people sit at banquet tables piled high with delicious foods, but no one can bend their elbows.
-In Hell everyone starves because they think only of themselves.
-In Heaven, everyone feasts because they feed each other.
In reality, these two places are one and the same. Whether we experience heaven or hell depends solely on us...and I believe 99.9999999999999% will experience "heaven", if not now, then ultimately.
I also believe that the message of this story holds for our current existence as well as for any afterlife.
