check out my sweet new beetle!
Today I saw this incredible beetle for sale (among others!).
I have never seen anything like it before... It is bright green, blue, purple and has silver lines on its front & back. Every angle you move it to, changes colour and photo's just don't do justice! It has been set into a resin like material, and crystal clear to see every beautiful detail on this gorgeous beetle every day!

They are beautiful. We have a lot of them here but they are a plague in my garden. The grubs from them get as big as my finger and eat the roots of many plants either stunting or killing them.

We call them Christmas beetles in Australia...
I used to see them alot at Christmas time.
They are fun to hold, they have spiky legs which feel funny when they crawl on your skin.

Quite large. A bit bigger than a June beetle, which they are closely related to. Figure about the size of your first thumb joint.
