It is good to see so much of the north of England designated as "National Park" area. So hopefully that beautiful land would be better protected and wisely managed (?). I hope so anyway because it is wonderful country.

I would take it further. There is a narrow corridor separating the ennlarged National Park from yet another, the North York Moors NP. Also, a further connection could be made to the North Pennines AONB [ Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty ], a higher classification than N.P..
AND, dont forget that a few miles north is the Northumberland N.P.
My vision is the entire north classified as N.P. or AONB plus, of course, the World Heritage Sites and the Heritage Coast. My thought is to make the entire North sacrosanct from fracking or opencast mining and the like.
Am I on a crusade ? - you can bet your boots I am !

Well, the way I see it, Norseman, is that we -as indigenous people of Britain have a right to protection of our sacred land.
