waiting room?

when someone close to me died I was the few days after described a dream my mom had of seeing him (the one who had departed) sitting on a bench and looking insecure, waiting, in what could have been a park. She came out of this dream with the feeling he was waiting, that this was not his final resting place.

when my past life ex hubby (sorry, know it sounds complicated) died I had a dream where I saw him leave a place in a kind of town, to see me and when i saw his eyes I knew he had died. His eyes always spoke, emotional, beautiful eyes. I too had the feeling that he was only waiting, he knew he was suppose to go somewhere else. I did not know he had died but later checked (thank you internet) and he had died then. He had not been the only one there, he had bee with others, but something had made him leave and go and see me outside this place. I had not known he was sick or was in hospital, I knew nothing about this until afterwards when reading of his death (facebook), released by a relative who had seen him in the hospital.

I wonder if my mom and I are just way off with this feeling both these dreams has given us? Or could it be true - is there a waiting going on after you have gone into the light and you are planning to go somewhere else? If so, how could that be? When I have read of what happens after you die it sounds as if you automatically go where you belong, that you don't have to wait. Both the person my mom described and my ow experience both men were dressed in formal clothing but that would have been their preferences in life too if there was something formal, important going on, to dress up, to dress proper, perhaps in a way to convey their insecurity, to show respect.

(both these men were in my life and past life very giving in nature but were too of stubborn, strong temper and I had less of that stubbornness, temperament in me, don't know if this could make any difference...both could get violent but not towards me...know they got enemies, but also know they did a lot of good...)

Anyone, please?

From all that I have read on the subject, the experiences that people have after the death of the physical body vary.
  • Those who are more developed with some understanding of what to expect will automatically find themselves on whichever astral plane resonates with their own vibrations.
  • Those who have been through a long illness or whose mental faculties had deteriorated while in the body will go to a place of healing where they can rest. Once their energies have been restored they will be led to the appropriate astral realm.
  • Those with strong religious beliefs may find themselves in an astral heaven which corresponds to their beliefs, surrounded by others of similar beliefs. They may think that this is their end goal for eternity, but eventually they want something more and they move on to other astral realms.
  • The average person may be initially confused by their new surroundings but eventually they meet a guide or a family member who helps them acclimatise.
  • Those who have led lives of deliberate violence and harm may find themselves on a lower astral plane surrounded by others who led similar lives, and their new existence may be rather unpleasant.
  • Those who disbelieve in any after-life may not realise they have died so they remain on the earth plane wondering what is going on and why everyone is ignoring them.
  • Or some may realise they have died but they are unwilling to move on from the earth plane because of family attachments etc.
And after dying people find themselves dressed initially in whatever clothes feel most natural to them, which is usually what they would have worn on Earth. At some point these astral garments are discarded, to be replaced perhaps by some kind of robe or whatever feels more comfortable in their new environment.

So there are many variations. I don't know if there is an astral waiting-room as such, but I don't think everyone automatically finds themselves in the appropriate astral realm immediately.

Peace

In my experience, when I regressed into a past life, then I progressed through death into the afterlife, it felt like waking up from a dream, visually and kinesthetically, and also awareness wise. I woke up to a different me, thinking about the me-that-just-died exactly as I think about the me-in-my-dreams after I wake up.

Years ago, when I was just starting to get interested in these kind of things, I had astral projections in which I found myself in a waiting area with many others. Also, when my mother passed on, I've seen her, in a setting similar to her former home, animatedly talking to a group of acquaintances and strangers, bringing them the news from here.

Now, I believe that this kind experiences are distortions caused by our beliefs and expectations. Not by the beliefs and expectations of those-who-died, but by the beliefs and expectations of those-still-here, alive enough to tell about.

thank you very much for sharing iamthat and inavalan :) very interesting to read about.

I can imagine, if to take a wild guess, that the one Mom saw was not religious and had to take his time before adjusting, had also been sick before death, so getting aquinted with the new situation, but the feelig of waiting was strong for my Mom as if he did not plan to stay there, where ever he now was. His funeral had not happened yet.

The one I got to dream about was complimenting my past life identity in real life for becoming religious and from what I can tell he stayed religious til he died. the dream started out that I somehow knew he was there, with some other guys in that place and I kept thinking his name over and over again. Then I could see him (huge windows, first floor) leave the guys, leave the place and go out to me. In his eyes I could see he was aware that he had died and that he was being mourned. Then everything became fuzzy and I don't remember anything else. To me the place looked like it was in the evening but there were lights on in the place and out on the streets but it was pretty much empty and cleaned up. Anyway, just wanted to tell :)

(I have had other dreams where I am thinking/shouting someone else's name and then suddenly I am with them. Afterwards these people has contacted me to tell me I was in their dream and we had the same dream. I have no idea why I do this in dreams, I'm such a bugger, ha ha).

I agree with iamthat and inavalan, these accounts are what i have come to believe after research.I also believe that the afterlife can be different for each of us based on what our emotions are at that time.

Hi @asearcher... Your account made me think of my ex husband and when he was terminally ill with cancer. Shortly before his passing, he appeared to my mother of all people ( a soul meetig) which was strange as she was not his biggest fan. He also came to me too, in a very long episode of soul meeting, and he was sat on a bench outside a church . We just sat and talked for a long time. I think the main reason all of this happened is because we have our boys together, it was almost as though he was putting his "affairs" in order, on a spiritual level before his passing. Since he passed, he has appeared so many times, I guess to let us all know that he is very much still with us and watching over his boys.

Hi, yes it was the bench that prompted me to reply. He had also appeared to my sister before passing too, which seemed strange, because if I'm honest, he wasn't that thoughtful in real life! At his funeral I touched his coffin and told him I would always look after his children. And I think I'm response to that gesture, he in turn let's me know he is still here. But oh my goodness, his first little grandchild , that was born 2 years after his passing was born in his image. No-one could get over the fact of how much the little boy was the absolute double of his grandad. Also, the boy needed inducing, but was quite small. He was born 6 days before his granddad's birthday. Even my son says " mum, I don't think he was quite ready to be born".... And I agree, because I just Know that he was meant to be born on his grandads birthday. Before the little lad was 2 , my son came across a photo of his dad. He showed it to his son without saying anything. The little lad immediately said "gan dad" and kissed the photo!! How lovely is that?

Hi.. maybe. None of us know for certain until our time comes. Until then it's just hearsay really. But the universe is infinite and can carry us all I think.
