Medium and channeling?

Is there a difference or is it both the same.

Hi,

I am not sure there is a difference. We think of channeling as speaking with highly evolves spirit beings. We think of mediums as speaking with the spirits of those who have passed over. What if every spirit was an eternal piece of the creative source.

I typed this beautiful long post, and it disappeared...don't know what I did wrong.

I think the difference boils down to anything else in life. Some people focus on one thing - communicating with past over loved ones - and some focus on another - communicating with non-physical energy beings who either have not been physical in a very long time, or never were to begin with.

I always ask for a Higher Guide when I channel, and I don't communicate with past over loved ones - just not my thing, so far.

very different. a medium mainly works on the earth level. friends and family.

a channel works on the spiritual level. lessons and knowledge.

The way I understood it was Channeling was when spirit overtakes the person, and speaks through them, often the person is not aware of what is said during channeling, and can even speak in a language they don't know.

A medium on the other hand receives messages from spirit either in pictures, or words, but keeps their own consciousness the whole time.

most authentic channelers i ever knew, channeled divine knowledge usually, not a specific spirit like a deceased loved one--that's more of what a medium does.

- The source of the information is perceived to be different from the conscious self
