Can't edit my options?

Why can't I edit my options from the User Control Panel? When I try to do it, the site says my account doesn't have sufficient privileges to perform that action.

I want to change the settings so I won't see the Signatures or Avatars of others. I'm on a limited mobile data network.

Hi Frosthawk,
I see you have already made 37 posts so technically you should be able to edit....
But your first post was on the 15th. That is very nearly 2 weeks ago. A new member should usually be able to start changing things like that after 25 posts or 2 weeks' membership.
So wait a few more days and see what happens. Try again at the end of the month. If it still refuses to work, please do contact a member of staff who, I am sure will be able to help you.

I understand about data allowance, and know that in an i-phone this is inconvenient. Hopefully it will be okay in a few days.

Alright. By the way, I understand not being allowed in Chat, but why are new people not allowed to edit account settings?

It's just the way the forum's settings are fixed. I am unsure but it is possibly a protection against spammers (i.e. not genuine members) altering settings.

I was thinking...is it possible for you to change the way you receive web pages on your phone? Do you have a "text only" option for those few days which you could use, to save data?

What are the various thread display options? When viewing a thread, you will be able to view the thread from a choice of four modes.

Linear Mode (Oldest First) - In this mode, posts are displayed chronologically from oldest to newest. Posts are shown in a flat mode so that many posts can be viewed simultaneously.
Linear Mode (Newest First) - This is the same as the above mode, except that posts are ordered in an opposite way (newest first).
Threaded Mode - In this mode, a tree is shown along with every post. This tree allows you to see the relationship each post has to others, in terms of who responded to whom. Only one post is shown at a time.
Hybrid Mode - This mode is a mixture of the linear and threaded modes. The post tree is displayed like in the threaded mode, but multiple posts are displayed simultaneously like in the linear modes.
