Pendulum not working as intensely when I show it to someone else

I just got a pendulum and I am in LOVE with it. Whenever I'm alone, the it swings violently one direction to another in response to a question. When I ask the same question in front of someone else - just to show them how amazing its accuracy is - it does work, but doesn't swing as wide. It's slower and calmer. I'm almost inclined to call it shy...?

Is there a reason the pendulum works better when I'm using it alone, rather than in front of an 'audience'?

Hello Fleur- de -Frost,

Perhaps the pendulum prefers working alone with you, and not being made the center of attention when you show it off to your friends ?

Also it is best to ask a question only once, otherwise it is like you are doubting the answer you were first given.

I have has similar experiences, unless the person who's with me has a need to be there to see the pendulum.

I think there's some element of 'showing off' unless you are specifically teaching someone how to use a pendulum or using it for healing purposes. It will work best when you're are fully focused on it and clear minded, probably why it works better without an audience.

Are you more calm and focused when alone? The pendulum picks up the energy of its surroundings. It is meant to pick up the consciousness in your aura. But when there's more than one individual consciousness, then there may be some interference.
