The American Council of Witches?

Can someone do into some depth about them for me please? For starters one woman who I was watching said they were formed in Britain but they are called the American Council of Witches and I can’t find any info referring them to Britain at all. So where did they originate? Can someone elaborate for me? I’m not go familiarized with some history stuff so forgive me if I’m over complicating this!

It was a group of pagans, witches, Wiccans etc who got together at some witch-meet and came up with the idea to outline a set of beliefs that Wiccans/pagans etc. could use as a base for their practices. I think they wanted to use this set of beliefs to help make Wicca a recognized religion by the government. They weren't around for very long. I think they disbanded in 1973. The woman that you mentioned might have been meaning that a lot of their practices would have originated in Europe or Britain. I don't think this set of beliefs is widely followed because neo-wiccans don't like rules, tenets or anything else these days.

I think the problem with this article is that it is mainly focused on Wicca, and back then people didn't differentiate between Wicca and witchcraft; but people need to realize that most of this does not apply to witches.
