Not men, some men.

It is all about physical strength. Women are weaker, they have menstruation, they have pregnancy, they have to protect children.
When society value strength, then women are only for giving birth to man, when society value love, women are equals.
That is so simple.

There were and are matriarchates: "The basic features of a matriarchate—the dominant position of the woman in society, matrilineal inheritance of property and position, and matrilocal or dislocal marital residence... The existence of a matriarchate has been historically reconstructed for certain peoples of Tibet and for ancient Egypt and other states in antiquity. Vestiges of a matriarchate survive among the Minangkabau on Sumatra and certain Micronesian peoples."http://encyclopedia2.thefreedictionary.com/Matriarchate

There was also the Amazons, a nation of all-female warriors mentioned in Greek mythology and classical antiquity.

This whole idea of fairness is the delusion of modern times.
It continues to wreck perfectly functional societies and turn them into dysfunctional madhouses.
A women is a woman. A man is a man. They are completely different.
One may 'act' like the other, but can never 'be' the other.
Surgery may enhance the illusion, but it remains illusion.
Meanwhile, humans move ever further away from reality.

no, religion itself isnt sexist at all.
society has often been sexist. but it had nothing to do with their religion.
also you seem focused on western religions.
dharmic religions see superiority in the feminine energy, yin.

What do you mean by this? It is not possible to move away from reality. Do you perhaps mean to say that a man who wants to be a woman is moving away from reality, namely the reality that he is a man?
No matter what the changes, they are reality.

That is so simple.

It is that simple, really...and how beautiful that concept is

That's not true, there have been many matriarchal societies in history. Some still exist today, for example the Kogi are remnants from ancient times and believe women are superior. It just seems that way since in this particular point in history we're mainly patriarchal.

Also, any spiritual belief is 'religious'. Just recently it's been changed to mean 'the other persons inferior beliefs compared to my superior reality'. It's just people turning a positive thing into something to use against each other. Using the word 'religion' in a derogatory way is somewhat ignorant and hateful, even though everyone does it since it's so popular now.

There is a documentary about them called 'From the Heart of the World' and a new one called 'Aluna' that's not out yet. Their god is the 'Great Mother'. They each have roles of course, but the women are in control.
