That is a difficult question. Buddha was a human being. But Jesus was said to be conceived by the holy spirit and his mother was still a virgin. That is the story. Whether it is true or not who can tell?

Buddha was self-realised. But Jesus did not go through any enlightenment. He was apparently God incarnate. So the story goes.

In a very generalised way. But then again so did John Lennon and Martin Luther King. It all goes round and round.

But as I say Jesus was supposed to be above and beyond mortal men.

Exactly
Jesus obviously studied Buddhism in Kashmir during his ' Lost years ' . You can see in the Gospel of Thomas the similarities.

If you choose to see him that way, so be it.

I think it depends really, on what "Jesus" you are following. If you are adhering to the tenants of the religious versions of Jesus. Then you are leaning more towards religion with your following, than in the spiritual version of Jesus. Such as if you believe that Jesus came, died for your sins, and the only way into heaven is to accept this as truth, and accept Jesus into your heart. Then you are leaning right on into Christianity.

If you see that Jesus was an enlightened being, that came to Earth to teach the way of love and in spreading that love. Then you are going to a more spiritual idea of Jesus.

From what you have posted in here, that Jesus was born from God and the holy spirit. Jesus was above mortal men. You are learning more towards dogma and the religious idea of Jesus, that you know from Christianity.

I wasn't even going to even hint at the fact that Jesus gained knowledge from Siddhartha's teachings. I would be appalled to find out my god gained wisdom from a lowly "Man"

But I would have to unlearn what they both taught to be appalled in the first place.
