Amethyst and Onyx healing crystals

Hi,
I just received amethyst and an onyx crystal/stone from a friend who thought they would help me to heal from the recent loss of a loved one. The stones have been cleansed but what do I do to have them absorb my energy or generate energy to me?

Energise them by imagining a white light (or use a candle to create the light) and sit with them for a while, holding them, tuning into them and meditating with them. Focus your intention into them. Repeat the intention a few times to the crystal and re-affirm your intention to it regularly if the crystal is to be doing a specific job. Some crystals take a little while to attune to you, others do it instantly. Keep them with you.

It's okay. We all have to start somewhere. :) Remember to sit them in the sunlight every so often to cleanse them too. Also,FruitLoop's process of attuning the crystal is helpful. Though,I usually only do that if I have a special job in mind for the crystal. Like keeping nightmares at bay or keeping a room's energy positive.

I don't tend to specifically attune my crystals very often, but if you're buying them for a specific purpose it can be helpful.

I pick my crystals out by how much they're tingling at me. Even if I don't know the properties I just roll with it and check my book before adding it into the bag! This is the luxury of having a fairly large collection though, one of them is bound to have the properties I'm seeking at the time!

I have a rather large piece of amethyst and it's always really cold even in the summer. Has anyone else noticed this?

There's a lot of info out there and everyone will have an opinion on what is best, it's more about what's best for you so cherry pick the information that you feel is most relevant, or even most manageable.

Starsaligned - nearly all of my crystals are cold when I pick them up. They warm up to body temperature when used though.
