You're never far from my mind, ssdm1, as I feel like I resonate with your situation to some degree.

I think the reason my tf and I are are able to be friends is because there is a lot of distance between us. Many, many, many states. Plus I'm happily married and he recently remarried his ex, which surprises me and doesn't at the same time. I think he did such because it's familiar and he doesn't want to be alone. I think remarrying has made us being friends a bit easier for him, even though the feelings will always be there. I can tell that he wants me to ask him why he remarried, but I'm not going to. Lastly, we were friends online for 12 years before meeting in person, so there's a huge history there of being just friends. That's our foundation so we just keep it there, although both of us knows that in another life time or in an entirely different situation, we'd likely be together.
