Unexplained energy entering feet

Hello lovely people,

I am quite new to this forum and and would like to put out the question that has bothered me for some good 10 years now and so far i haven’t managed to figure out what it is and how to deal with it myself. So i would really appreciate some insights or ideas perhaps on some literature that i could look into to help me understand this issue. Or maybe you have had similar experiences and could share them with me. Anyway..

I feel a strange flow of energy entering my body and blocking up my perceptions. I became vividly aware of it when i did my first 10 day Vipassana course. I sense this energy entering my feet going upwards along both of my legs, the spine (through the back bone) up through the neck and into the head. Once the head is 'full' of that energy, it starts filling up my neck and chest, arms, back and so on covering my whole body. I didn't know that my body was full of that energy until in one of my meditation sittings I was focusing on top of my head and realised that something shifted in my body. I kept the attention there and felt like some layer in my head cracked and everything in my body started to dissolve. Everything that I had assumed as solid, went out through the opening in my head, leaving me transparently empty from the inside.

I call it an energy, but in fact, i don’t know WHAT it is. I only feel a certain movement, flow, tingling sensation, heaviness, pressure, numbness etc. When i sit an intensive meditation course, my perception gets sharper and i sense that this ‘energy’ consists of tiny little particles. It’s like the sand on the beach, consisting of little grains of sand, but when poured into a sack, they will make a solid mass. So in the same way my body feels like a heavy sack filled with this energy. The problem starts when this ‘energy ‘ goes upwards to my head making it so full that , i sense a veil covering my eyes, the hearing losses its sharpness and the smell becomes less sensitive. It blocks/clutters my perceptions, which makes me less aware of my head and my whole body, it almost becomes numb, and i have a sense of disembodiment.

Now during my meditation practices it so happens that there are certain points in my body where they seem to open up and that energy leaks out, leaving space inside me. That space feels natural, right, peaceful. I am more alive when there is space in my head and of course throughout the body. The space, i mean is when there is the absence of this energy.

I also feel that this ‘energy’ has not got intelligence in itself. It just follows some kind of principle, like a gravitational force/pull. I feel discomfort only when it’s too much as it gets stuck and overly solidified.

I also have noticed that by paying attention to the actual sensations in my body, or doing a body scan, the energy starts moving/dissolving and disintegrating in various parts. I don’t mind it. I would just like to understand what it is, what it’s purpose, where it’s coming from or can i do something not to let it inside? What have i done that it is entering my body? Am i thinking bad thoughts or is it samsara/karma that i need to deal with it?

I would really appreciate if anyone could tell me anything about it..

It is very normal, what you are feeling is earth energy. Most would have to use some effort to pull up the energy. If there is to much energy in your head, hot or could, it is best to circle the energy in what is called microcosmic orbit.

Hello Rah nam,

Thanks a lot. I think it makes sense that it is earth energy. I tried cosmic orbit meditation today and the energy does change. I just feel that there is total imbalance of inner energies. At times it feels weird, even mystical when it feels as though it's leaking out from the top of my head.

You can create an energy ball, shoot it out through the to of you head, collect cosmic energy, bring it back into the body and mix it with the earth energy. It would be best to transform any negative energies in the body first.
