Question for reiki masters/teachers

Just wondering if anyone has ever felt that an attunement has not gone through? I was told this for reiki 2 by a reiki master. I did not make any sense. I always thought that it was the intention that counts.

Ive never ever heard of this happening and my teacher attuned thousands to reiki around the world (its her full time job teaching and attuning reiki). I'd wonder if it was truely reiki enegy this person was trying to attune people too. (maybe their symbols were wrong).

Yes, it was reiki. I don't know unless perhaps I blocked the attunement?
I have done attunements myself on others and even though I may have screwed up on a symbol, the attunement still went through. I had the feedback.

If the symbol is wrong the person may still be being attuned to "something" (hence person may still give feedback, most people wouldnt be able to tell a slightly different energy signature then usui reiki) but the energy may be slightly different so may not in fact be the traditional reiki but something else. You cant trust a new person to reiki to know what the energy is exactly supposed to feel like.

This is caused people out there who are supposively doing reiki.. to actually not be a channel for the same energy . So its a case now that people need to be careful.

New reiki masters traditionally trained with their teacher for years (I forget now for how long but it was a long time).

I didn't scew up on the symbol per se but may have forgotten to add one in the end. I heard that anyway if we intend reiki to go through then it should go through. I also heard that the symbols are not that important and that we can even attune without them. Not sure if that is true though.
