Three of Wands meaning

I am actually a bit confused on the meaning of the 3 of Wands. I did a reading and it popped up in the immediate future position which usually fullfills itself for me within 2 weeks. Sure enough, after 7 days, I did a different kind of reading on the same person and the 3 of Wands now showed up in the past position which makes sense-- it came to pass *lol* I have been pondering and wondering what event represented this in some way, but I am not sure. I thought the 3 of Wands meant a completion of a project or stage in life or progression. I just get confused with this card Any ideas?
Thanks!!

3 of Wands - keyword = Foundation
the initial success of a project because of being in the right place at the right time. You will now need to put in a lot of hard work and creative energy. The original idea will require modifying, so be prepared to be flexible.

Progression is a word that popped out at me when I read your post. I see the 3 of wands as an ability to focus, direct and use one's will toward a goal or purpose. It asks you to re-align your energy to that cause and don't be too anxious in getting it started. Every choice you make will create a change and this change will realign your energy as well as your balance. It could also represent how you see yourself and of your relationship to others.
