can the eye see itself?
I was in a dark room reading the screen of my iPhone with one eye for a while. when I got up and moved int he dark I had a strange feeling like there was a black zone in my vision. I turned on the light, covered an eye and looked at a blank wall. I got a round image that slowly faded in and out. it looked like a mesh of long things like sea anemone arms. Poking around online that is sort of what they say the rods and cones look like in the back of your eye... but how could I be seeing the cells that are doing the seeing?
the other day I was contemplating consciousness as light. thngs began to feel odd, like I felt aware of the light in everything, fleeting images of clarity. was I 'remote viewing' the inside of my own eye??

Yes. Gaze at the space between your own eyes in a mirror, or gaze at the flame of a candle without blinking for a while and then close your eyes and see the 'after image'.
We call this process 'Trataka' and after a few years of regular practice, the 'Third Eye' will be opened and once this happens, the eye will be able to see itself.
