New to Crystals looking for mentor/s!

Hello all, I’m Nic! I am excited to join this group forum in efforts to overall feel better, be more aligned in the world, and feeling purpose, motivation, and self love. I hope to meet friends and similar minded folks. I’m 21 and I have recently been handed a difficult hand of cards from life when my father passed at 47 with cancer. I’d love to feel, if possible, anything I can from him. I am eager to learn anything about crystals for those who are willing to teach. I’ve done research online as much as I can and unfortunately there is not many stores located around my area with what I’m looking for.

Sorry to hear of your loss.

I was going through some family stuff and came across a Chevron Amethyst
pendant. I'm not sure where that stone is now, but I wear a ring on a chain to
remind me of them. In the beginning it was misplacing the pendant which made
me make a trip to my nearest Crystal shop. My journey began with Quartz and
Tourmaline. I would wear my pendant and then make Crystal grids when I slept.

There's a book that I'm thinking of but I'm not at home to check it out, so I'll do
that tomorrow. A Herkimer Diamond may help to connect with the energies of
stones ~ try and read more about them.

Thank you both so much for replying! With further research and my first purchase of crystals I have come to the next step of setting up a sacred place for my crystals. I’m so excited and can’t wait to see what comes to me to place at my peace setting ❤️

Great idea to make kind of a sacred place for your crystals. I need to do that too. At the moment they are spread all around the place.

I feel my home is a Sacred place, to me that is, my domain, my castle
Most of the things in my home, including the colour and placement of furniture etc. is based on intuition and energy. (Just explaining what I mean with it being a Sacred place).
I've got so many crystals, many are upstairs in the 2 spare rooms. One is where I have my wardrobes, but also store my shaman instruments and some other things of importance. I have the more fiery and/or masculine crystals there.
In the other very small spare room I keep the more feminine and / or watery crystals.

Downstairs they're everywhere. A number before my Buddha statue, a number on the small relationship altar in the relationship area (Feng Shui) and so on.

If you got a lot of crystals you could do something similar.

That's a good idea as well FairyCrystal. Unfortunately I have a small apartment but maybe I can do something with that idea. At the moment I just think I have too many crystals and I'm selecting some to sell and let them make other people happy. From time to time it is a very cleansing feeling to not only collect crystals but also let some go from time to time and send them out into the world.

Yes, at some point it's difficult to find the space to put them, hihi. I've gotten there as well. I'm wary of having crystals go on, although I have done it a few times, including crystal skulls. I have regretted it a few times as well though. I guess it depends why you do that. I've sold a number of crystals and skulls a few times because of money issues. That's when you can regret it afterwards.
A couple of times it was more because they wanted to go on. Then I didn't have regrets.
Much of the space problems I sort by intuitively putting them on a table so they don't 'bother' one another. Some can be closer together than others.
