Well yes, of course, CSEe. But you can't try to 'be nobody' as empty awareness comes spontaneously in revelation.

As you mentioned before, a spiritual path is a process. Step by step we loosen our hold on the surface identity... ownship is a good word for it, that you used.

Realization is not 'knowledge" but knowledge is a tiny part of realization . I never try to be nobody as that is also a desire .... a pollutant in myself . But in knowledge perhaps Buddhism will lead me to be nobody not someone I wish to be .................is the one I will accept and realize ...that is currently in my "knowledge" of Buddhism .
To me , if one attached himself to his "knowledge" he will always be the one he choose to be .......not the one he must be .
Buddhism is a process to the end of myself........the liberation of me . Thats is my current understanding that always subject to changes after move to greater awareness ,
