My wife has a collection of raw tourmaline stones. She sort of has expensive taste. She keeps them on the coffee table in our living room. I always wanted to get her a blue tourmaline for her collection. Today I got her a blue ( indicolite ) tourmaline from Pakistan. It's huge for what it is, a whopping 340 grams ( a little shy of 1 LBS for our Yankee friends ) It's got a small bit of Lepidolite and Albite attached to it. I am not sure which is which, as I am not familiar with those minerals, I assume the pink part is the Lepidolite and the clear part is Albite.

Got this today...I had a amethyst cluster a couple years ago but someone who "borrowed" it never returned it sooo decided to get myself an even nicer one. :) I love the lighter ones like this.

That's got one of the nicer color/tones for an amethyst that I have seen. I can see why you liked it.

A little Fire Opal cabochon. Made a little pendant from another one. I love Opal but I'm aware that there are a lot of stories about this stone. What do you think of this stone. Would you wear it?

Love the blue tourmaline - hard to get hold of and expensive generally!

I haven't bought any crystals for a while, but last week I indulged a bit and purchased raw Auralite 23, a large shattuckite pebble and a tumbled crinoid fossil :)

You're right Fruitloop, about blue tourmaline being rare and usually very expensive. I don't see much of it, so when I saw this come up on auction, I jumped on it. Not sure why I got it so cheap, I don't mind disclosing how much I paid. $ 250 USD. My wife has smaller tourmaline specimens that we have paid much more for. Considering the price tourmaline usually goes for, I think I got this for a song.
