There was that moment
When I stared at you through a locked glass door
And waited to see
How long it would be
Before your heart would sink...
With the realisation that I
held the key
And the power to let you in...
Or keep you locked out in the cold
Regardless you smiled at me
Trying to convince my better judgement to
Reconsider my position.
Alas - I held firm
To my position as I sat in my warm
Home watching you
Watch me
From out in the cold...
Finally I unlocked the door
And you walked in
Never doubting me for a second
You walked to your food bowl
And ate some doggy kibbles...
Than walked to me with and waited expectantly
For a cuddle...
And for me to throw a stick
For you to chase
We are all just
Desperate,
Silly animals
