Hi i am new so forgive me if i don't make sense. I have recently started doing tai chi and i find it very realxing and i am glad my friend persuaded me to join. In the group we also do relaxation before and meditation after so we encompass it all in one which i find very liberating.

Ah yes the soft martial art of Tai Chi, that practice brings back alot of good memories when I was in my late teens, a very good practice which instills self-discipline and calmness.

Alot of people look for good quality Tai Chi schools(or Masters) but can never be able to discern the good ones from the poor-quality ones. What I can tell you is that you'll KNOW that you found a good Master(and school) is if the school(aside from its primary training area) has an exclusive secondary training area either in a downstairs basement room or in a room that is insulated and sealed off, where only the senior students may enter. It's in this room where you get to see and learn the REAL skills and abilities of the what the Master has to impart from the art of Tai Chi.

I know at least ONE of you know what I speak about.

Just to show another side More than 10 yeaes and have taught a portion of that
You will know you have a good school when they dont have an us and a them when they dont give you grades and they dont give badges or ribbons or brownie points.
Sifu if you must but no Master and grasshopper is optional
Tai chi like the Tao should be looked at through a smile and if there is no smile something very important is missing
Tai Chi like the Tao is way too important to be taken seriously

I gave up yoga for tai chi some months ago because I found it difficult to continue yoga after a major surgery. I found a reputable master luckily and now I practise both tai chi and chi gong every day for about 20 minutes. I love tai chi.

Sounds like something Kwai Chang would say (:
I start Taiji on Tuesday.
It's going to be a nice addition to the years of various martial arts and qigong.
