ekmek, very gooey dessert I was thinking it had more pastry to it. My first Turkish word, ekmek, thanks !

ref the OP, the stones I work with are in wooden bowls sorted by colour, but the fragile ones or the ones too big to work with clients with are either in a cabinet or on shelves.

It really is beautiful, isn't it (i'm talking about the ekmek ) Santorini is renowned for the beauty of the sunset there. It is a fitting island for a crystals thread as it is called the "gem of the aegean". The whole island is essentially the remains of a big volcano mouth that erupted the same time Atlantis was destroyed. The giant tsunami that followed destroyed the Minoic civilization at the island of Crete, many miles away.

Nice idea tilia, sorting the stones by color. I was thinking of doing that. Right now I am just trying to learn the names of the ones that I don't know ~ so they all have name tags, I hope they don't mind !

Sounds like a very romantic place, the beautiful sunsets and being the " gem of the aegean ". Thanks for sharing a piece of the history of the island !

I used to have them all strewn about in a shoe box. All over each other. Probably not healthy for them.
A few months ago while out at the Arts and Crafts store. I bought a bag that is used for crafts. This bag came with 5 plastic boxes that had individual areas for things to be placed in. It's usually used for beads and knacks of that stature. Which I knew to be perfect for my crystals. I have now placed them into that allowing them to be in seperate bins for the most part. Sadly I do not recall the names of all of them. Some are labeled. Most are not.
