I agree, Spiritualism is now classed as a religion.

Like all other religions, it has been altered to suit mans agenda but when you are able to sort out the Wheat from the chaff, you are able to discover that IMO,it is the only true religion.

Although I'm a staunch Modern Spiritualist I personally would not go so far as to claim it's the only true religion but I'm not an expert on the very many other religions anyway.

On a personal level even after +35 years I am still moved by the simplicity of its message of survival and by trans-dimensional communication that provides evidence of it. Any road up, mi duck, it's the thread starter rajneshrai who was asking the question - we two already know the answer. Wonder if he'll come back to find out?

Both are man-made belief systems and that spiritualism is the belief that the dead can communicate with the living and vice a versa & that there is an afterlife reincarnation. Also that the dead can provide useful information to those seeking it and asking for it from the spirit realms.

This may not specifically answer your question, though after twenty-eight years born and raised as a Jehovah's Witness, then my mom dies and starts communicating with me... eight years later I have developed some personal view-points on the matter. As I have lived to experience each of these upcoming realities

The four Degree’s of interest

Religious – Open. Someone who attends a church or similar community structure around comradely and some purpose. They attend, but it is not the purpose of their life. It is only the motions of mind that compel someone to continue. –Pre-brainwashing.

Religonist – Trapped. Whether religion or some other social group, the mind of this person has made a choice to live for the purpose of what they are being told to accomplish by another. They have become devout to purpose. Brain-washed and attempting to brainwash others.

Spiritual – Rebirth. The birthing of freedom. This one likes to talk about free thinking ideas and concepts of any and every sort… however they do not want to discuss these matters excessively. They are interested and yet have not completely escaped the effects of mind control. Seeking freedom, though bound.

Spirit – Freedom. All day, every day, they are concerned with freedom of mind. They become liberators. Their purpose has become what they are the master of in their life. No longer subject to the control of humans or their abilities of manipulation. Free to advance without controlling constrictions upon the mind and inner angel.

Both are man-made belief systems *POINT 1 and that spiritualism is the belief that the dead can communicate with the living and vice a versa & that there is an * POINT 2 afterlife reincarnation. * POINT 3 Also that the dead can provide useful information to those seeking it and asking for it from the spirit realms.

As a +30 years Spiritualist I read this stuff and have to accept they're notions - mistaken ones - held perhaps by many who know nothing about Spiritualism. For the sake of accuracy I'll address the points individually.

* POINT 1 Spiritualism isn't a "belief system" because the movement, philosophy and religion are NOT based on belief. The fundamental message of Spiritualism is that of the survival of all us beyond death. It provides evidence of that message by way of contact via mediumship with those who have gone before.
Based on evidence of identity provided in such communication, individuals may consider that their personal evidence represents - for them individually - proof of survival. It is, however, important to note that Spiritualism does not claim to PROVE any such thing; only to provide evidence that individuals can assess for themselves.

* POINT 2 The notion of reincarnation is a step beyond the fundamentals of survival and is one about which debate continues. By contrast, Spiritism holds the principle as fundamental to what it teaches.

* POINT 3 Spiritualism does not claim to provide any useful information as is suggested above.

Such personal views do indeed NOT answer - specifically or generally for that matter - the obscure question posed by the thread originator. Those views also have no connection with Spiritualism, the movement, religion and philosophy.
