Yeah physical things places etc all have their own energy.
Physical distance does make a difference!
Even if you can sense something from miles away the signal will be so much stronger the closer it is.
(Distance multiplyer?)
Edit:both spiritual and physical; its all energy in the end made of the same stuff.
