I used to hear sounds as a kid...

When I was younger, around ages 9 to 13 I used to hear a lot of sounds. The one I remember most was a sort of marching sound. It sounded like an army of a lot of people marching and it was very loud. I knew that the sound wasn't coming from around me. It's kind of hard t explain, but it was in my head but also in my ears just not outside of my ears. I would hear it kind of frequently and it would last about 5 to 7 seconds.

I would also hear voices, more like chattering. I could never pick out any words though.

Any idea what this could have been?

Hearing things from the Other Side?

My friend told me last night she is hearing music
so much she looks at her window to see if it could be coming from a neighbors!
I told her, Ya know Beethoven heard symphonies, she didn't know that.
Seemed to ease her mind.

She was thinking she was going to die (she has some health issues)...so I told her that.

Many years ago I lived in an apartment a few times while in bed I heard what sounded like a party in my living room, I never found out what it was.

I thought this section might be more active...
I first became aware of spirit when i was about 3....like most children, parents passed it off...saying you'll grow out of it.... Decades later I found I was one of a long line of Mediums in my family... Hmmm..
It was suppressed as my father was fearful, unlike my mother and myself..

Re the ?? Marching sound, lasting only a few seconds.. I wonder if that could be Tinnitus as this happens intermittantly and often for a short burst..
It takes many forms.. whooshing, whistleing and rustleing..

The marching sound. Was it at a realistic speed? Could you march like that yourself, comfortably? Were there other sounds beyond the thudding?

Hi, I was looking for the same thing. Did anyone tell you what it could be? My 10-year-old has been hearing noises that no one else can only while at school. He said they're so weird that they don't sound like anything he has heard before and can't compare it to anything, therefore can't describe it.

I just came to revisit this thread and didn't see I had gotten any replies!

I do have tinnitus but the sounds were much different than what I hear with tinnitus.

Right before bed when I'm in that almost asleep state, I hear voices but I haven't heard the marching sound in years. Still never found out what it was.

In the house where I used to live (moved out late summer this year), I had experiences similar to yours. What I heard was on a vibrational/energetic level, not with my physical ears, but there's a lot of variation in how we sense things among those of us who are sensitive to such things.

At some point during just about every October, I'd 'hear' the movement of many people coming toward my home in the direction of the back yard (from west to east). When I looked out the window I could 'see' (again, not with my physical eyes) a large group of Native Americans, apparently migrating..? Or maybe on the move because they'd been displaced, I don't know. They carried their belongings, their young children, etc. No pack animals.

Anyway, I got the sense that this was a sort of energetic 'echo' of something that happened quite some time ago.

I wonder if you were hearing something similar..? Where were you living at the time?

As for hearing indistinct voices, one of the main 'symptoms' I experience when I'm off balance and un-grounded is that I find myself checking other rooms to find the radio or TV that's been left on. Of course I don't find anything, and the noise has either stopped or shifted into another room. Other times I hear different things, but they're usually related (for me) to stress and/or anxiety. When anxiety becomes very intense, I also see - with my eyes - smoke billowing around me. That's when I know I have to stop what I'm doing and take the time to ground and center.
