Listens to Birds

I remember my mama always listening to the birds and sometimes whistling back to them. She had a special connection with them and I remember learning to whistle with the cardinals with her, a very special memory. But it was only after she passed that my mom told me something interesting about her. She said mama once told her "listen to the birds, they know what's going on. " My mom kinda shrugged it off as weird and didn't think much more of it.

But I can't help but wonder if there is something there in bird song that could hint at the future? I wish that I could have asked her when she was still here just what she heard from the birds.

Your mama had a special connection to birds, it's similar to some people receiving messages on the wind, I guess.

Some people are born with these abilities, the rest of us have to work at it

Thanks Jenny Crow! I think she was very sensitive to spirits as well. I did some digging and found that in ancient Rome politicians would pay oracles to read flights of birds or listen to them for signs of the future. How neat, I don't think that I have heard about receiving messages on the wind...

Augury, I believe, is the name given to divining by the flight of birds.
I'm not totally sure how people receive messages from the wind, I don't know if they hear voices or just get feelings. I've tried it and I got a definite feeling that something was going to happen - and it did; and another time the wind felt cold - not in temperature but unfriendly so I decided not to do what I was thinking of doing. I'd like to get better at it though, lol.

Hi. Like my username? I agree. When the birds sing, they are telling us something. What that something is? You got me. ;) One thing is for sure, they are God's divine little creatures who bring us messages and signs and the best I can suggest is --what kind of feeling do you get when you hear them? How do you feel and what are you thinking?

I pay special attention to birds. I have a great love for them and tend to notice them. I am still new at trying to figure it all out myself. But that is truly wonderful that your mother shared that with you.

WOW all i can say is that is such an interesting theory. I believe that you are correct the birds do have a message in their songs as do the trees.

There is a big tom-cat, a hunting cat, who prowls my neighbourhood. He comes down as far as my house mostly in the summer. Since dog has been gone, he prowls around here even more.
He and I get along, but I do not want him in my kitchen, as he leaps up onto everything, tracking muddy paw-prints all over my draining-boards and work surfaces, and he sprays.
Now I listen to the birds, because they will always tell me when he is coming. They never fail. They usually give me 5 minutes warning. I hear their voices change, and hear their alarm-calls, and have time to shut my back door before he arrives!

Every eye , every sense of every creature , all report to the Super-Conscious what they see and feel. Nature speaks to those so in-tuned with the Divine Mind and Nature ....ITS expression. So birds see more then humans do! What do the birds see? Forests destroyed, oil spilled, trees plowed over, cities arise, mass pollution of the water and air! Still they sing!
