What practical use is your faith to others?

There is an expression, 'So heavenly minded, but no earthly use'. That appears to apply to quite a number of more extreme Christians. They force their faith down people's throats, but do nothing to help people who are in need of practical assistance.

This doesn't of course apply to all Christians by any means, I know quite a number who put themselves out to help others, including my own three girls, of whom I am very proud.

There are many non believers who have made a big difference to the life of others by helping them when they are down on their luck.

Good question for Christians.

Prepare yourself for the coming astral journey of death by daily riding in the balloon of God-perception.
Through delusion you are perceiving yourself as a bundle of flesh and bones, which at best is a nest of troubles.
Meditate unceasingly, that you may quickly behold yourself as the Infinite Essence, free from every form of misery. ~Paramahansa's Guru's Guru

I can understand deep seated anger towards Christians who today seem to be more about the Letter than the Spirit.

At the end of the day though, what matters is YOUR happiness - focus on that .

If it makes me a better person, less selfish, less ego bound, less reactive, more interested in Truth and Spirit and Love and Service, than it's done it's job. It doesn't have to be "Evident" to the world, but the change, well it's worked.*

In my eyes it's always leading and living by example. What does having faith in Jesus or God mean when a person can live life in a way that is perhaps selfish in nature.

It is not incumbent upon the minority of Christians to help over 7 billion here on earth with their need of practical assistance. Christians should be living separate from unbelievers, not amongst them - with no need to force compliance to our faith upon them. "So heavenly minded, but no earthly use" - it is of the Christian faith to be heavenly minded, not earthly minded and certainly not in servitude to the unbelievers.

Their are many who call themselves Christians, the majority, who knowingly serve the devil, Satan. And it would be nothing to many to help their own kind, the unbelievers.

What a horrible attitude you have. If Jesus was alive today I doubt he would want you in his club.

If time and space aren't real as we perceive, as science has been indicating to us, then what is more practical than alerting people to this truth?

Ego is attached to the "Survival Instinct" of the organic aspect.
Clearly, we are more and other than organic, though.
Further, this understanding is a necessary basic understanding, is it not? Agreeing with spiritual teachings of all faiths?
