Used to have a dog, but I never refered to him as 'pet' to be honest.

We have had loads of animals in our 50 years of marriage. I believe that whilst one should not be unnecessarily cruel to them they are there to be useful, and should never been treated as surrogate humans.

I have a 7 year old Maine Coon mix, named Cliff!

A friend had four kittens on his farm who's mama cat disappeared one day. They were only a week old. I became foster mom and nursed them all, gave them baths, taught them to use the litter box - the list goes on. I feared I would lose at least one of them but they all survived and were given to their forever homes!

Cliff (who we mistook for a boy until we went to get her fixed) went to a home, but the dog in that home was a danger to her. So my baby boy came back to me, and then turned out a girl later! Our special thing is my being able to hold her in my arms like a baby. She just melts.

I have three dogs and a cat. Dolly and Bubba are both pitbulls, and Romeo is a huge German Shepherd mix. The pitties are the goofiest, friendliest dogs imaginable, but Romeo doesn't care for any human who isn't me.

The cat's name is Waylon; he's huge and solid black and loves to hunt, and he keeps my property rodent- and mole-free. He seems to have no interest in hunting birds, much to my relief. He used to be a stray tomcat, and he still prefers the outdoor life, but he's much friendlier than he used to be, and this winter he's been coming inside a lot more whenever the weather gets too cold or wet. I never planned on having a housecat, but it looks like he's headed that way.

I just lost my awesome dog last week, but we just got a puppy, and I also have an orange tabby cat
