Guidance for my 4 yr old

My 4yr old son, is 'in love' with a girl at preschool! It's not a crush like he's had with other girls. He talks about her all the time and smiles like he's in love, when he does! Very cute but its now becoming a problem because he gets nervous around her, doesn't say hi or play with her. His wonderful teacher with many years experience, says she's never seen this behavior before. It is now affecting his behavior at preschool since he appears socially anxious.

Any ideas?

Sorry I have no big ideas but my gosh that is so precious! All I could suggest is to help him keep his heart open even if later on in life it gets emotionally wounded. Closed hearts have never done our world any good and these generations to come are needed.

Best luck from one mother to another

Yes I hope he will always keep that love, not just for that little girl but for all, that way he will never be searching for love, because he will know that he himself is love, the same as all of us.

I will do my best to nurture that in him and that is very much how he is. Absolute Golden child- every single characteristic! I feel a lot of pressure in making sure I do the right thing by him with my parenting.

By the sound of what you are saying, I think your child is very lucky to have someone like you as he's mother.
