She was an allegory for the female principle that gives birth to the Christ in everyone, the fact this is a requirement for seeing the kingdom for everyone shows its not a physical female.
Abraham's story was allegory so everything related to what was written is to, the whole journey laid out from genesis to revelation is about waking up from the shadows, dark sayings Paul referred to as dead letters, until realizing it's about you, the house of God.

Yea, I was reading about the virgin archetype in various cultures. Makes sense to me.
