Keeping your eyes open while lucid dreaming
Hello,
Everytime when my sister has lucid dreams, she tends to open her eyes in order to explore her dream. She can also see her room clearly.(She is aware that she is dreaming) Is it common to experience it?
Thanks

it's possible though extremely rare to be able to dream with physical eyes open. For most, the stimulation of light (blue wavelengths specifically) tends to wake people up. In a darkened at might room that wouldn't be a big issue.
Opening your physical eyes probably makes keeping the lucid aspect easier however.
side note: most people find two distinct sensory streams (one from room, the other from the dream) hard to deal with. If you are moving simultaneously in both locations it is very hard avoid confusion. Similar dual sensory effects can happen with some forms OBE (like Phasing with eyes open), opened eye meditation, vision work, and scrying.

I don't think it's common to open eyes during lucid dreams, it's a skill that takes practice. From my personal experience, opened eyes dulls the lucid dreams because of the reasons wstein mentions, but it is doable. I have on occasions, even gone to the bathroom and returned to bed to pick up on the dream again. It takes a great deal of focus, so unless it's a dream I consider highly important, most times I just let it go.

Thanks for the information. My friend says I open my eye while dreaming, but I can't remember I'm in a lucid dream.
