Windows 7 service pack 1 compatability issues.

I will say that going against the grain and staying away from newer versions of Windows will not do you much in the long run. You will eventually run into problems with devices, and software not supported by it. And eventually, if it's not already the case, Microsoft will not support it anymore.

Quite true. Which is why I stated that when that time comes I shall be most happy to convert to a MacIntosh system, which has none of the problems inherent in PC's and is a vastly superior product

Very dodgy stuff going on. I had cleaned my registry and defragmented it and removed all my cookies after this SF worked with IE9, however it seems I can only click on the desired menu item once. Having clicked on new posts for example..It displayed all of them , much to my initial delight. However I figure there must be some fault in the browser memory as it assumes that having viewed all the new posts, that will be the only time ever that I need to see new posts haviing already done it on one occasion.

I think that this is the flaw I am experiencing, IE9 seems to regard all visits to menu items on SF as one off's unless I delete manually all cookies after each visit and possibly wipe the index dat files too.

All of that is too much of a rigmarol to me so it's back to Fire Fox for the time being with SF

It seems that deleting all cookies and cleaning the cache post browsing will also reset the page so that new posts display correctly, this may arguably be a little more preferable than tampering with the browsers security settings. Progress is being made.

I use cc cleaner from piriform for cleaning my history as it also takes care of the disk space hogging index dat files.

At least there is a way aroud this issue now :)

You mentioned adobe. Now I know there are different adobe programs, but i'm wondering now if the issue with my adobe photoshop not working, is to do with 64-bit...hmmmm...

When Vista came out, it gave my brother so many fits that he took his brand new laptop back to Best Buy and demanded one with xp. None of his software that he used for his sales rep'ing would work. It brought him to a standstill. As for browser, we use either Mozzilla or Chrome.

Me too. I ought to have caught on when I found my new PC had both 32 and 64-bit I.E. Anyway, common sense won and I went back to Firefox V3. Caution - Firefox V4 is a nightmare !
