If there is such a thing as a Soul then I imagine Jesus would probably have it. :)

I've enjoyed reading this thread.

I see my soul as my little piece of God. Jesus has his piece of God too.

God created souls, but he created them out of himself.

Hi slash, if you see your soul as a little piece of God, what is the rest of you? the rest that isn't included in the little piece.

I don't know about slash, but my evolving soul is my soul, God respects that process?

It's like God has this huge spiritual mansion with many many rooms for our souls.

It's still Gods house and just as living in all households, respect the rules or you might find yourself living in the basement.

What is a soul that can live in the many many rooms?

Well the rest of me is a piece of God too. It's all God.

I suppose that does render my original point moot actually xD

Here and now you have a soul.

The soul is a mystical concept that we cannot totally understand. The word is derived from the Greek word “psyche” and has many meanings as used in Scripture. It is a word often used interchangeably with spirit. Our Church Fathers have given us various insights about the nature of the soul. From the account of Creation in Genesis, the first man is created from earth and then God breathed into him and he became a living being. The word used for breath is the word we translate into soul. So in the broadest sense the soul is the inbreathing of God into our being to give us life. The soul is how the material world is connected to God. Body and soul were created at the same time creating a unity of body and soul. There are two principles that come together, spirit and earth. The soul makes the material element become conscious and capable of willful actions. With a soul in the body, spirit can meet the world.

I think it is also said that after death we receive incorruptible bodies like the Christ did and shown after his resurection. That's the Christian faith, in the living Christ.

Jesus returned from the grave and it is said was seen by some. Amazing that...

From a Christian view, "The word “soul” in the Bible is a translation of the Hebrew word neʹphesh and the Greek word psy·kheʹ. The Hebrew word literally means “a creature that breathes,” and the Greek word means “a living being.” * The soul, then, is the entire creature, not something inside that survives the death of the body. Consider how the Bible shows that the human soul is the whole person.

Go into your room, close the door and say a prayer, look you are there.

Thank you so much for bringing the etymology to the conversation.

In the context of the original word, was a living being only soul when breathing? Brings comas and stuff to a new light.

Somehow, vaguely, I want to reference Lazarus... you know, the guy whom Jesus raised to life.

So glad I don't believe in souls, so many different interpretations I wouldn't know which one to choose
