[quote=Spirit Guide Sparrow]
During the healing you will want to remove your hold on personal ego and mental activity, particularly your need for control and direction of the healing, and allow spirit to take the role as leader. This means emptying your mind. The reason for this is because your mental controls will merely sabotage the activity, as human mind and will always overrules spirit interaction.
Oh sparrow this is so difficult *sigh* I am a monkey minded idiot, my mind never stops. I wanted to be good at this so badly, I barely contribute anything to the world as it is...

Thanks for the scoop on healing, senor Sparrow . I am working on one of the Chihuahua Overlords , Zeus "the Moose" , who had a 4 oz. malignant tumor removed 3 weeks ago (that's 1/16 of his body weight ) . He's doing great, started chemo, but we're accepting healing energies from far and wide for the little dude . I don't have a very calm mind but I can get out of the way hopefully enough for the healers to do their thing . Mrs. Chi saw a gathering of healers (non-human) above the vet's office during the operation , and one in particular that Zeus loved, so we have faith and demonstration that these things are real . This is all very difficult for us because of the official prognosis, but we expect miracles .

I feel so torn about these matters. Though I grew up with a spiritualistic worldview, I have had doubts and anxiety about it since the age of 9.
What Sparrow says in the beginning of the thread is more or less what I once believed in. Then I shifted from that to some kind of agnosticism or atheism. That, however, has never satisfied me, so I frantically searched for evidence for the afterlife from a more scientific point of view. Those was never conclusive.
Today, at 25, I find myself completely confused. I cannot simply believe in an afterlife such as this, but nor can I believe in no afterlife.
Therefore, I began trying to have OBEs in order to obtain some kind of proof. However, even though I have just begun, my mind has become obsessed with questions of life and death.
No one I know understands these subjects apart from their own religions - which do not demand such certainty - so I seek advice on how to deal with this without getting obsessed.

Dear Sparrow,
In the surgery I had last year, I almost passed on due to complications.
This year, I'm having another major surgery. I'm concerned if I pass on this time, what would it feel like? You answered this for me at our first meeting. Now I'm wondering: Is there a point where people tend to "go under" and cross over? When the perception of an individual's self turns to the soul and would stop feeling any pain or distress of passing?
Thanks, old friend.

Here is one suggestion: set aside the search and just focus on what you know is true. After eliminating all of your mental constructs, beliefs, and notions about things, and all second-hand knowledge, what are you left with? You are left with the fact that you ARE. Yes, that fact is the inescapable bottom line, right? No matter what else people believe, when all of that is discarded, there is still the fact of your own awareness. Now, if you were to simply return attention again and again to that basic recognition, which some call "the I am", and refrain from letting your attention drift to the various unanswerable questions and concepts that pass through your mind, you will notice that you begin to calm down. Pretty soon, if you are persistent in keeping your attention on the simple fact that you ARE, then you will notice all the other issues become less and less important. You can be happy, because happiness is in fact your natural state, once you have let go of all of the other confusions which you previously occupied yourself with. The "I am" is like the clear blue sky, and all the other thoughts are just like the passing weather that comes and goes. Eventually, it may become obvious that this "I am" has always been, and will always be, regardless of which body you are temporarily wearing, and regardless of whatever happens to it in the course of experience.
Blessings!

Great answers. I would also like to add this extra reference.
It's common questions asked to a near death researcher. There is a section where you can skip to any of the questions or concerns about this topic.

Thank you ! Zeus the Moose thanks you Mrs. Chi does too, and Brother Enrique ("Squeaky") , the other Chihuahua Overlord.
Zeus is doing great; he feels pretty normal now, eats like a horse and is gaining some weight back, which brings us joy. He has 3 more chemo treatments to go, and it's so wonderful to have him stay with us , happy , for as long as it lasts. They make every day special, and every day we have Zeus, after what he's been through , is a treasure . These little guys show me a lot about love
It's funny/interesting : some of the times I felt the most love on "the other side" is when I feel the love from the animal spirits , and how much love there is waiting for our little critters when they leave this life. It really helps deal with the grief of losing them . I told Zeus the other day "this (life here) is just the beginning for you and I " , because these are our little walking companions forever .
Here's Z & E

Similar to that works for me well. I disassociate from the need to know answers to my mind's questions and the need to analyze in it's framework. What's left when you let go of everything you think you have a handle on ?
Everything that really is . Or something like that
