fwiw the word for 'everything' is actually a phrase '10000 things' which would seem to mean (literally) 'the infinite number of things' rather than being a reference back to the word for tao.
but as you say one, two, three, 10000 things are all just tao anyway, but looking at our description of them they each seem to be a description of a piecemealed version of tao.
There is endless talk about descriptions of piecemealed versions of tao... but tao goes about as itself regardless of whether or not it is dissected, or how it wants to dissect itself.

By extending both arms and hands outward from the body, the GodSelf Icon conveys the concept of duality—an idea expressed by the twin objects depicted “symmetrically” in each hand (twin serpents, twin staffs, twin animals, etc.). Standing between the representations of duality, the hero figure marks the “center” or “balance” point, thus giving us the central message of the GodSelf Icon—to find the center between the opposites.

There's that, sure.
And then there's, "When people see their ideal as good, evil ideals are created." That's what I was specifically responding to: sky's comment.

The circle of the taijitu, male and female, sun and moon, still distinct but in balance within themselves and with each other, is this the hermaphrodite of the Rebis?
Quote:
The Rebis (from the Latin res bina, meaning dual or double matter) is the end product of the alchemical magnum opus or great work.
After one has gone through the stages of putrefaction and purification, separating opposing qualities, those qualities are united once more in what is sometimes described as the divine hermaphrodite, a reconciliation of spirit and matter, a being of both male and female qualities as indicated by the male and female head within a single body. The sun and moon correspond to the male and female halves, just as the Red King and White Queen are similarly associated.

Though for me the King indicates the heavens and the queen the earth.
