That is celestite actually and it is very fragile. Calcite is not a quartz it is a calcium carbonate and quartz is a crystallized silicon dioxide.
If the celestite fell it could break. Metaphysical reasons could be someone in your life would benefit from the crystal and the crystal has volunteered to be shared. Since celestite helps communicate with angels the crystal may have encountered an angelic being with the same frequency which could also cause it to break.
