Some Things Important To Note About Reiki Practice

It is Very Important to note the following things about Reiki practice, but this is only a partial list.

One must not ever make the claim that you can Diagnose, Heal, Treat, or Prescribe when doing Reiki. The only exception is if the person is also a duly state-licensed health care professional in good standing whose purview is to make such claims. To do otherwise can open one to serious liability problems and/or even imprisonment in some cases.

Some practitioners carry Reiki insurance. Whether one charges for Reiki or not is not the issue. It is always better to be Safe than sorry in this regard. One must consider the following: What if the person who does not charge for Reiki and feels relatively safe, asks a person to get on a Reiki table and the person suffers a fall or worse. What then? Well, the person could certainly turn around and sue the practitioner which would be very costly to them and could also result in driving them out of their Reiki practice with just one incident. The same, of course, holds true for those who ask for a fee or energy exchange. In today's litigious society, there appear to be those just waiting for an opportunity to sue for money and especially if it is a person they do not like and they might claim to have suffered a fall, etc. This is based on news items and discussions. I am, of course, not a lawyer and therefore cannot offer legal advise by any means.

Some may also be taking Reiki too lightly. They may believe they can just pick up a book or read something on the Internet and PRESTO! they have Reiki. Nothing could be further from the truth so don't kid yourself. Beware of those offering to give or teach you Reiki if it sounds fishy or too good to be true. ** Check Them Out First! **

It truly takes study, time, and practice, as well as for the initiations/attunements to be properly administered in order to learn Reiki which should only be taught or given by a Qualified, Certified Reiki master. However, not having been properly initiated/attuned into Reiki does not mean a recipient cannot experience some kind of energy. It would most likely be only the personal energy from the person who is performing something with you. There is another thread that goes into this further as to what to ask and look for in an instructor or practitioner. Be truly smart, first and foremost, so as to Invest In Yourself and your further spiritual studies by properly studying Reiki with a master truly qualified and certified to teach and pass on the initiations.

Note: In Usui Shiki Ryoho (The Usui System) we speak mainly of "initiations." Other systems may refer to them as "attunements." In any case, the words appear to be synonymous.

Also very important to be aware of is the fact that some states require licensure for Reiki practitioners and teachers. So, it is always best to check first about state laws, local or county laws or regulations, etc. regarding Reiki practice so as to make sure that you are operating in a legal manner.

How many of you knew these things? How many thought that just by picking up a book or seeing a film on Reiki or looking up information on the Internet would immediately qualify you or make you into a Reiki master or practitioner?

I welcome additional comments regarding these important areas (and there should be plenty of them!) Thank you and many blessings to you!

I see it is all about business practice. Where are the important things about one's Reiki practice?

You Have To First Learn About Precautions

Hi pre-dawn. In order to learn the basics about an area of work or concentration one must also learn the pitfalls and precautions to take as they go hand-in-hand and are important.

Your question refers to the important things concerning the practice of Reiki. If you would be a little more specific as to what you are trying to ascertain, no doubt we will be able to have a fruitful discussion to further answer your question(s). Thank you.
