Septuagint

From a thread on another sub-forum:

"That is right, the current Christian Bible which is called the Septuagint is actually far more reliable than the "Hebrew Bible" which Judaism uses now. The Hebrew Bible was technically formulated 600 years after the Diaspora. So when you have a rabbi who sometimes tells you that your Christian Bible is inacurrate because it is from the Greek Septuagint tell him he is actually Historically inaccurate and using a smug-technique that a lot historians use on like the History Channel or Discovery to disprove certain beliefs."

In what way was the Hebrew bible formulated 600 years later? I feel that the original text/language would always (maybe?) be closer to the true meaning than a translation of a translation.... so much just gets lost in translation. I understand when they find dead sea or other ancient texts it seems to show that the text remained largely faithfully copied through the ages?

Will someday one call upon God to speak/write again and offer ratification and confirmation of the covenant, or reach an accord on a new one?
