Yes, it's certainly up to you which stones you choose. I think that opening up your inner abilities is similar to opening a can of beans. You can use a can opener and do it slowly and in a controlled manner, or you can use a laser beam (that would be Moldavite) and do it quickly. Just remember that a laser beam is powerful stuff. It could very well FRY your beans. As far as having one set of rocks forever: rocks are tools. They won't wear out. But as you get further into this field, you may find a need for new or different tools. (new or different rocks). Hope that helps...
