I agree with EvaMoon, the blue fluorite is very beautiful for sure !
I was actually considering one of these blue fluorite specimens ( 10 + LBS ) as one of my next purchases, however I already have a couple fluorite specimens and some blue specimens as well like Celestine and kyanite, so I have focused my attention on malachite with azurite ( very difficult to find over 6 LBS unless I want to spend thousands ) or a large ocean jasper ( something funky colours like pink and orange )
On further consideration the blue fluorite needs a second look. I must point out that not all of the blue fluorite are equal, and you should get some pictures in natural light. Some of the blue fluorite is very dark blue, and in my opinion not as " gemmy " looking as the lighter blue fluorite. Sometimes you will find dark blue fluorite with smaller bits of light blue fluorite with it.
Speaking of malachite, I wonder what it looks like in person. I wonder if it has some of the same irridesence as labradorite or tiger eye ? Some of you guys could probably answer that. I am more interested in a large raw unpolished specimen. If it's just some green rock, I am maybe not so interested, but if it has some " funk " to it like tiger eye or labradorite I would be most interested in it. It's hard to tell by pictures sometimes. Labradorite is a good example. I kind of knew before I bought my specimen it would have some really interesting colour properties, my wife looked at the picture and didn't think anything was very special about it. When it was delivered I heard her say something like " Oh , now I understand " and now it has become one of our favorite stones, so much that we are considering getting our new countertop made of this material.
