What are your favourite Buddhist quotes?

I just wanted to gather the Buddhist wisdom in one place.

I don't have any favourites, but more allow the wisdom of Buddhism to move with the flow of my life. So the focus changes in this way. I have posted a few things in other threads but the inspiration is more than just the quote alone. It becomes the living awareness of the quote to investigate deeper as a source of life and living. So today, tomorrow who knows what arises in relation to Buddhist quotes...

Peace comes from within,
Do not seek it without.

You only lose what you cling to.

Happiness will never come to those who fail to appreciate what they already have.

These jumped out from inside when I read your post, mybe they are teaching me something for today.

To enjoy good health, to bring true happiness to one's family, to bring peace to all, one must first discipline and control one's own mind. If a man can control his mind he can find the way to Enlightenment, and all wisdom and virtue will naturally come to him.

On life's journey
Faith is nourishment,
Virtuous deeds are a shelter,
Wisdom is the light by day and
Right mindfulness is the protection by night.
If a man lives a pure life nothing can destroy him;
If he has conquered greed nothing can limit his freedom.

One of his students asked Buddha, "Are you the messiah?"
"No", answered Buddha.
"Then are you a healer?"
"No", Buddha replied.
"Then are you a teacher?" the student persisted.
"No, I am not a teacher."
"Then what are you?" asked the student, exasperated.
"I am awake", Buddha replied.

As human beings we all want to be happy and free from misery.
We have learned that the key to happiness is inner peace.
The greatest obstacles to inner peace are disturbing emotions such as
anger and attachment, fear and suspicion,
while love and compassion, a sense of universal responsibility
are the sources of peace and happiness.

You will not be punished for your anger, you will be punished by your anger.

If you look at the quote it makes no sense. You will certainly be punished for your anger if you put your fist through a glass window or hit someone and cause them injury. If it makes no sense then it would not have come from the Buddha.
This is a fake Buddha quote, it is not in any of the Buddhas teachings.

Prepare yourself for the coming astral journey of death by daily riding in the balloon of God-perception.
Through delusion you are perceiving yourself as a bundle of flesh and bones, which at best is a nest of troubles.
Meditate unceasingly, that you may quickly behold yourself as the Infinite Essence, free from every form of misery. ~Paramahansa's Guru's Guru

I heard a radio interview with Krista Tippet (On Being is a gr at radio show BTW) and she told a story of a monk being interviewed by Larry King.... Larry (slightly perplexed by the monk's serenity) pointed at his head and asked..."how do you get it so quiet in there?" To which the monk replied..."It is quiet in there"
