Strategies for Engineered Negligible Senescence is a proposed research road-map created by Dr. Aubrey de Grey. He went to Cambridge and there are many scientists who take him seriously.
He hopes that we can eliminate aging in 25 years. He wrote a book called Ending Aging.

Why would you want to end aging?! Its a natural cause of life! If you look after yourself in life you naturally prolong the aging experience anyway, so just take care of yourself, eat everything in moderation, exercise, look after your skin and as long as nothing untoward happens you will naturally decay aging.
I think its ridiculous when people try and stop themselves from aging. Botox is effectively poison in your body which in the end is only a temporary solution. Why stop the natural progression of life. Its wrong for people to play "god".

Dr. Cynthia Kenyon discovered that the roundworms she's been studying age VERY slowly, and furthermore, their DNA is very much similar to a human's...she is trying to do much the same thing by putting the worms DNA into ours, but you wouldnt NOT age, just age 5 times slower...you could live up to 500 years or so, but would still die eventually...

Why would you want to live for so long?! Cannot see the appeal really. Its just playing "God" and its wrong in my eyes.

Well, if it is successfull it will most probably not be something you are forced to do.
It sounds great to me.
In many perspectives God is everything, and we all have god in us. So why not act as god if we indeed are god? Off course you may not share this view.
I would certainly appreciate it, longer childhood, longer youth, longer time exploring and becoming skillfull at the art of understanding and living life.

If you put it that way it sounds great. I just think its unnatural.

Mhm, I understand that thought. And share it actually..
But just for the fun of it, what is actually natural and unnatural? If we really go to the depth of it. We are all, of this universe.. which is evolving. Can this imply that it would be even more unnatural not to evolve and explore the lengths of what we can accomplish ? Just a thought.. :)

If we were meant to live that long then i think we would evolve naturally to do it not unnaturally through the aid of science....which kinda gives my definition of what i think natural and unnatural are.
