Any guesses as to what this stone is?



this is the back:


The green almost reminds me of malachite, but I can't begin to imagine what the rest of it would be. Any input is appreciated!

It looks like blue lace agate on golden healer quartz .

My guess it is a dyed agate . I've never seen anything like this before though I could be wrong . Interesting :)

Blue lace agate! Now that you said that, I can see it. It kept reminding me of something and I kept thinking malachite, but the green color was throwing me off.. duh.

Thanks for your suggestion. I've never seen anything like it, either. Unfortunately I bought it out of a bin of stones and I'll probably never know what it is, but I couldn't leave it there once I saw it.

Blue lace agate is a naturally blue stone, but its also a pale pastel shade.

I've seen a lot of agate (normally greyish/brownish stone) dyed a vibrant blue. This resembles that type of blue to me.

Here is some Blue Lace Agate. This should make it easy to compare the color of the stone pictured above to the shade of blue in Blue Lace Agate (which is easier to do when one has the stone "in person").



Here is an example of a dyed agate slab. I see this color a lot. Normal, undyed agate is a greyish/brownish color. Great for us crystal aficionados and rockhounds, but not as eye-catching (and therefore, not as likely to sell) in the places that sell agate slabs for decorative purposes.

From my point of view.. It "was" a chalcedony/agate or even a blue lace agate surrounded by Chalcedony.. and still is.. However, it's been colorized or treated to appear as it does.. Sort of yellowish/green which is unnatural..
