Why do I feel exhausted after I meditate?

I don't understand. Is it because I meditate on my bed? Or if I do yoga in the morning, I don't feel energized I feel drained. But this concerns me especially with meditating. I also feel heavy bags under my eyes after I meditate. What could be going on?? :/ Is something stealing my energy? I haven't seen anything.

Do you feel energetic before meditating or doing yoga ? Maybe you are just tired, needing some vitamins or more sleep ?

Not really, but now that you mention it, I think I've been dehydrated recently. :/ Maybe thats why I feel so drained.

You are running more energy when you meditate though you may not always feel it. It can make you feel tired. Don't worry about it. Take a nap! The feeling will either subside after awhile or you won't feel it every time.

I have heard of many who drink more water right before and right after meditating, not sure why... I thought the drinking water afterwards was to ground a person.

Perhaps I am. I always feel like I sortof switch to channelling different energies during meditation. I don't know how to stop.

I think it could be one or both of a couple of things. You should make sure you are well hydrated before doing energy work of any sort (including meditation and yoga). These activities cleanse your energies, which in turn causes your body to cleanse itself of toxins, which uses a great deal of your body's water reserves. I remember the first time I had reiki done on me I felt very thirsty afterwards and was confused about it until the practitioner explained this to me. Dehydration can cause you to feel tired and lack energy.

It may also be because the spiritual and emotional healing and raising of your energies that is part of this kind of spiritual work causes recovery and strengthening of your physical body along with your spirit body, and just like when your body is recovering from an illness, this physical recovery process can cause you to feel tired and weak for a while - of course, in the long term, you will feel much better than you did before.

It sounds to me like you are engaging in some significant emotional and physical healing with your practice, even if you're not aware of it - that's good, it means you are doing it right! If you find it is draining you too much, just hold off on the meditation for a couple of days or meditate for shorter periods so you can regain your balance. Spiritual growth can be quite intense at times so make sure you don't overdo it. It's like exercise - incredibly good for you but doing too much of it at once can wear you out and cause exhaustion. Keep going on your spiritual journey, but be sensible about it and take care of yourself.

If you are stressed, nervous or on edge in some way, it takes a lot of energy from you. If you manage to meditate deeply, the meditation relaxes all the negative feelings that took a lot of energy from you, and so all that is left is feeling tired. That’s good, it means your meditation works well.

I just realized I get tired when I meditate if I'm already in a negative mood: whether it be anxious, worried or plain pessimistic. I slip into these patterns so easily without even realizing it. I noticed that I'm beyond tired. It's more like when I meditate I get in deeper touch with my subconscious and sometimes that just isn't pretty. I become aware of all of my fears which present themselves in weird ways. The question is, what do I do to rid these anchors??
