... and gets it!

If you set out each day to do all the goodness and kindness that you can, and to do no harm to man or beast, then you are walking the highest path.
And when your time is up, if you can leave the earth a better place than you found it, then yours will have been a life well lived.

How good that story is!....That the Whale trusted them and knew they would be able to help. And that they did help it. That is something I bet none of those men will ever forget.
But how sad also, that humans' mindless disposal of plastic bags causes such issues with wildlife in the first place.

knightofalbion - Whales can use all the help they can get. I'm reading a book now titled "A World Without Ice" which is a book about all the effects of global warming on the planet. But the book also talks about all the different kinds of pollution, including noise pollution. Apparently the oceans are filled with so much 24/7 noise from man, including constant sonar high frequency noise that whales have beached themselves in what scientist say is an attempt to escape the noise. So many other problems exist with the oceans including increase methane saturation due to the ever melting ice that has housed methane without consequence for thousands of years. But in the liquid state, the methane is release into the ocean causing the ocean to become more acidic with one result being dead zones where coral reefs die and the feeding organism and fish perish.
Hate to be the pessimist, but global warming is way more serious than most realize and it affects every living organism and plant on earth. Scientist and politicians are speaking a different language.
